IceCap Sumps and K2 Skimmers Now Available

Icecap is an old company with a new design and products

Originally IceCap was known mostly for lighting, ballasts, and other light options, but now they are coming back into the market with the IceCap Reef Sumps and IceCap K2 protein skimmers. The new Reef Sumps by IceCap look to be very promising for quality and loaded with features! With built in bubble traps, reservoirs for top off water, filter socks, and much more they will be one of the best sumps on the market for their price.

IceCap K2 skimmers are also a new product they are releasing this year in less than a month, and they look to be very different from some of the competition. The bubble plate design on the Icecap k2 skimmers are made to push the air out the side of the plate instead of the top, however not all models feature this. I would expect this to yield possibly more contact time inside the body increasing performance of the skimmers, but I wouldn't expect it to make a drastic difference. It will be interesting to see more reviews and to get them in person to see how they perform. Most of the models of K2 skimmers are using the Sicce pumps, which are used by many other trusted brands already on the market.
